Breaking news: yesterday at noon, Mayor Boulanger announced the dismissal of her General Manager, David Fournier.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that events escalated following the statement by Mr. R\u00e9al Pleau<\/a>, President of the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration ind\u00e9pendante des syndicats autonomes (FISA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Pleau had announced FISA’s decision to petition the Quebec Municipal Commission to place the town of East Angus under trusteeship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This request was prompted by numerous instances of misconduct by the General Manager, which were negatively affecting the work environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tipping point came when the CNESST<\/a> accepted two claims for work-related injuries caused by psychological harassment by the General Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Pleau expressed satisfaction with the mayor’s decision and added that the request to the Quebec Municipal Commission has been suspended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We all hope for a return to normalcy in labor relations in the town of East Angus, and we offer our full cooperation to the municipal council moving forward,” concluded the FISA President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
