Breaking news: yesterday at noon, Mayor Boulanger announced the dismissal of her General Manager, David Fournier.
It appears that events escalated following the statement by Mr. Réal Pleau, President of the Fédération indépendante des syndicats autonomes (FISA).
Mr. Pleau had announced FISA’s decision to petition the Quebec Municipal Commission to place the town of East Angus under trusteeship.
This request was prompted by numerous instances of misconduct by the General Manager, which were negatively affecting the work environment.
The tipping point came when the CNESST accepted two claims for work-related injuries caused by psychological harassment by the General Manager.
Mr. Pleau expressed satisfaction with the mayor’s decision and added that the request to the Quebec Municipal Commission has been suspended.
“We all hope for a return to normalcy in labor relations in the town of East Angus, and we offer our full cooperation to the municipal council moving forward,” concluded the FISA President.
